A BOX TO  A CUBE 

A Box To A Cube was a group show in the Michael Pennie Gallery at Bath Spa University, as participants we had a limitation of the size of the works we put in, the pieces submitted had to be 30 x 30cm, this kept our exhibition consistent despite having a multitude of mediums within a small space. In my practice previously, I have looked at the self through painting, my submission for this exhibition was an A4 oil painting of myself, I looked at how the female form has been sexualised throughout art history and I opted to depict myself from an unflattering and unappealing angle to emphasise my work as pushing back these ideals of the female body. The exhibition was organised as part of an end of year exhibition in my first year of university, allowing us to gain an understanding of our practices in a white cube setting as well as how our work has developed throughout the year.
