WORK IN PROGRESS

Work In Progress took place in April 2023 at Bath Artists' Studio, it included 21 participants using a variety of mediums. Spread across two rooms in the building, we organised and set up the exhibition, we aimed for a cohesive feel throughout the space and encouraged the work to flow with one another. The walls were filled with prints, paintings and film, works hung from the ceiling and the floor space was consumed with sculptures placed on plinths and on the floor.

In the main gallery, I placed my Immobility: Disbelief piece, which stood directly on the floor, allowing the audience to stand next to it where they could inspect and compare themselves to the piece. Additionally, my piece Immobility: Destruction was placed on the floor leant against the wall with Plan for Immobility Series sat upon the self above.  This work was in the same room but not next to the the other piece, I chose to do this as although they are part of the same series of work, they are not the same piece and so this set out allowed the audience to draw a connection between the pieces but understand them in their own right.
